Gorgeous Winter "Glow"

You may be feeling the effects of the cold winter air on your skin and lips! With all the cracked, dry and chapped skin you may be feeling like you've lost that "glow" about you. Luckily, with a small change in your diet, and your skin care routine you can get that beautiful winter glow that everyone will admire!
How can your diet affect your skin? By adding nourishing, antioxidant rich fruits, vegetables and "healthy" fats you can moisturize and replenish your skin. All while providing your body with health promoting nutrients.
Fresh Fruits:
1. Berries: Choose what you like; blueberries, strawberries or raspberries. Berries are rich in flavonoids, which is an antioxidant that can help delay the aging process and strengthen collagen in your skin. They are also high in Vitamin C. Vitamin C will help maintain capillary walls, promote skin elasticity and plumpness.

2. Mango: Mangoes are high in vitamin A, C, and E. They are also rich in antioxidants. (Remember they are high in calories and sugar, so to avoid that winter bulge, don't overeat these fruits)
3. Citrus Fruit: To help cleanse your digestive system and clear the skin try grapefruits, oranges, lemons and limes. Citrus fruit is also rich in Vitamin C!
4. Kiwi: Another fruit high in Vitamin C and antioxidants. This fruit will help promote skin elasticity and smoothness!
Fresh Veggies:

1. Beets: Although Beets may not be in the forethought of your mind, they are full of antioxidants, flavonoids and aid in the digestive and immune systems functions. They will also help revive dull skin and promote renewal and repair.
2. Broccoli: When your mom told you to eat your broccoli, she knew what she was talking about. It is high in fiber, iron, antioxidants, foliate and vitamins A, C and B2. All of these attributes promote healthy skin, hair and nail. It also helps clean out your digestive system, liver and kidneys of toxins.
Healthy Fats:
These fats provide skin cells with nourishing moisture and oil which help prevent dryness and wrinkles. Try Salmon, tuna, flaxseed, avocado, walnuts and olive oil. But be careful as these are still fats so eat in moderation!

Skin Care:
1. Microdermabrasion: Try this treatment to get the dead skin cells off, allowing new ones to surface. It will make your skin smoother, glowing and help with those pesky wrinkles.
2. Exfoliate: EVERYDAY!!! Get those dead skin cells gone for good.
3. Moisturize: Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize....did you get the point? MOISTURIZE!!!! This includes your face, hands, feet and lips!
Don't accept the dull winter skin all season long. Fight back and do something about it today!!!
